Welcome to BitBuff! This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the BitBuff Twitch Extension. We're committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

By using BitBuff, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the extension.

Information We Collect

For Streamers:

• Twitch Account Information: Your Twitch user ID, channel ID, and username (provided by Twitch when you authorize the extension)
• OAuth Tokens: Secure tokens that allow the extension to check your stream status and send chat messages (stored securely and only used for extension functionality)
• Extension Settings: Your exercise preferences, theme colors, avatar selection, alert settings, and other customization choices
• Gameplay Data: Your stats (strength, stamina, willpower, luck), attributes (HP, SP, MP, crit rate), workout queue, completed workouts, and achievements

For Viewers:

• Twitch Account Information: Your Twitch user ID and username (provided by Twitch when you interact with the extension)
• Workout Exchanges: When you exchange Bits for a workout, we record your username, the exercise selected, the Bits amount, and the timestamp
• Leaderboard Data: Your total Bits used and workout contributions are tracked for leaderboard rankings (weekly, monthly, and all-time)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide Extension Functionality: Enable Bits exchanges for workouts, track stats, manage workout queues, and display leaderboards
• Personalize Your Experience: Remember your settings, theme preferences, and avatar choices
• Display Alerts: Show workout alerts in your OBS browser source when viewers exchange Bits for workouts
• Maintain Leaderboards: Calculate and display top trainers based on Bits contributions
• Check Stream Status: Determine if you're live to enable/disable certain features
• Send Chat Messages: Automatically post workout notifications in your chat (only if you've authorized this feature)

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, or selling to third parties. Your data is used solely to operate the BitBuff extension.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Railway. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information:

• Data is stored in encrypted JSON files on secure servers
• OAuth tokens are stored securely and never shared
• Regular backups are performed to prevent data loss
• Access to data is restricted to the extension's backend service only

While we implement security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We only share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Twitch Platform: We use Twitch's APIs and services, which means Twitch has access to data you provide through their platform (governed by Twitch's Privacy Policy)
• Public Leaderboards: Your username and workout contributions are displayed on public leaderboards within the extension (this is part of the extension's core functionality)
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services. The extension operates independently without external data sharing.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you use the BitBuff extension. If you stop using the extension:

• Your gameplay data (stats, workouts, achievements) will be retained unless you delete it
• OAuth tokens are automatically invalidated when you revoke access through Twitch
• Leaderboard data may be retained for historical rankings (anonymized after deletion)

You can delete your data at any time using the "Delete My Data" button in the extension's config page, or by contacting us via email (see Contact section below).

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can view your data through the extension's dashboard and config pages
• Modification: You can update your settings, preferences, and customization options at any time
• Deletion: You can delete all your data at any time using the "Delete My Data" button in the extension's config page, or by contacting us via email
• Revoke Access: You can revoke the extension's access to your Twitch account at any time through Twitch's Extension settings
• Opt-Out: You can stop using the extension at any time, which will stop new data collection

Children's Privacy

BitBuff is intended for users who are at least 13 years old (Twitch's minimum age requirement). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

International Users

BitBuff is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the extension from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using BitBuff, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
